 ... a lonely grandmother dreading the approach of Christmas: “I know both of my children will find excuses; they’ll celebrate with their own children and leave me out of their plans.”

... a mother angered by her intelligent, drop-out daughter who was living her life as if it were an endless party: “That girl has had every opportunity, and she’s just throwing it all away!”

...a father nearly estranged from his “little girl” because he couldn’t get along with his son-in-law: “What am I supposed to do? My daughter has married a total jerk!”

... a mother whose third grade son was continually in trouble at school: “His lazy, disrespectful behavior baffles me. My other son is fine. What’s wrong with this one?”

I, too, understand because of my own experience as a loving parent of a difficult child. And although I suffered through years of frustration, guilt, fear, and desperation, my attitudes and perspectives shifted as a result of the Essentials Coach Training Program, and today I have a radically transformed relationship with my son.
